Raw MDF Fibers MDF

MDF
stands for M edium D ensity F iberboard. MDF is made of wood fibers as opposed to wood chips which particle board is made of. MDF fibers are very fine and when blended with resins and other additive is the perfect recipe for MDF. With extreme heat and pressure, this mixture is then compressed into sheet form. Different additives can make MDF fire resistant, moisture resistant, or urea formaldehyde free.

MDF machines well, paints great, has a smooth surface, lays flat, and there is minimal chipout on the edges. There are no defects in it and is consistent or homogeneous from one face to the other face.
